As someone who measures in at a somewhat underwhelming 5’3, I’m the biggest advocate of everything and anything with a heel. A standard day time look for me usually involves some sort of heeled bootie teamed with ankle grazing jeans. This is driven by the great belief that somehow, I will magically look 3 pounds slimmer and 3 inches taller. (On a good day.) But for busy days running around between classes and work they just don’t make the cut. Heels are uncomfortable. The pinch . They rub. They give us some awful blisters. But they look fabulous. What to do. Enter the flatform, the perfect alternative. The hidden platform makes for absolute comfort without scrimping on the extra height of a heel. This particular outfit is a minimalistic, casual one, perfect for days spent in class, (see huge blanket scarf and an elasticated waist band!) There are so many options too. House of Fraser currently stock this beautiful rose gold pair that would look just amazing with a brighter look- think blue skinnies and a cream blouse. I won’t be giving up my favourite heeled boots anytime soon…but maybe, just maybe, I’ll be sensible and swap them for the mighty flatform every once in a while.
